Our Team Motto for 2025

A Shared Motto as a Guiding Principle Throughout the Year
An internal motto is more than just a phrase. It creates orientation, inspires, and connects us. In an international company like LIMBUA, with four production sites in Kenya and several hundred employees across many different departments, it is essential that we work toward common goals together – whether in production, logistics, quality assurance, administration, or the agronomy teams.

Teamwork is essential
“The Top” … What Does That Mean for Us as a Social Business?
For LIMBUA, “The Top” does not only mean economic development, but also the continued development of our company and our collaboration with smallholder farmers, employees, and local communities.
As LIMBUA grows, our sourcing, processing, and export structures continue to develop as well. At the same time, additional smallholder farmers can be integrated into the network, and new jobs can be created at the production sites.
- Collaboration with Smallholder Farmers: Through long-term sourcing relationships, documented processes, and digital payment structures, we work together with thousands of contract smallholder farmers.
- Employment in Rural Regions: Our four production sites are deliberately located in the regions where the raw materials are grown. A large share of our employees come directly from the surrounding communities.
- Organic Farming and Processing: Organic cultivation as well as certified processing and export structures are central parts of our daily operations.
“The Top” means long-term collaboration, functioning processes, and shared growth.

Increasing Complexity Brings New Challenges
As a Kenyan-German company with four different production sites in various locations across Kenya and several hundred employees working in many different fields, these structures naturally bring challenges.
On the one hand, the geographical spread requires effective communication so that all departments and locations can work with the same information and collaborate closely. At the same time, work processes may differ depending on local conditions or operational requirements.
The wide range of activities means that every area comes with its own requirements and challenges. This makes cross-departmental collaboration even more important, bringing together knowledge, experience, and perspectives from different teams.
A shared motto reminds us that despite different tasks and locations, we are all working toward common goals.

Working together across all levels
You Cannot Do It Alone: Everyone Supports Each Other
Company success can only be achieved when teams collaborate across departments and locations. Sharing knowledge, supporting one another, and continuously improving processes together are essential parts of this.
This means that every production site, every department, and every team contributes to the overall process. Different responsibilities and perspectives are just as important as shared responsibility.
“Meet up at the top” reminds us that collaboration and mutual support are central parts of our daily work. When teams and locations work together on solutions, stable processes and long-term partnerships can grow.
